WFCC Fujairah Grand Prix 2025-26

1. Scope

1.1 Governing Body of the WFCC Fujairah Grand Prix Series is the World Federation for Chess Composition (WFCC).

1.2 At any time, any circumstance or unforeseen situation not covered in these Regulations shall be referred to the WFCC President for final decision.

2. WFCC Fujairah GP Series Format

2.1 The WFCC Fujairah Grand Prix is a 2-year cycle of at least four solving competitions, with the final competition to be held in Fujairah, at the end of the second year.

2.2 In 2025 the Grand Prix includes results of the Athens ECSC (Greece, April) and the Alba Iulia WCSC (Romania, July).

2.3 In 2026 the Grand Prix includes results of the Skopje ECSC (North Macedonia, April) and the Magdeburg WCSC (Germany, August).

2.4 The Grand Prix Final 2025-26 will be at the end of 2026.

2.5 The Grand Prix Points will determine 18 out of at least 20 participants of the Fujairah Final.

3.4 If the Grand Prix consists of four qualification competitions (2 x WCSC + 2 x ECSC), the best 2 results will be counted for the overall standings on the road to the Fujairah Final.

3.5 In the case of tie in the final standings the 1st tiebreak will be better result in the 3rd leg.

3.6 The 2nd tiebreak will be the higher Solvers’ Rating.

3.7. The Grand Prix Points are applied to qualification legs only, and not to the Fujairah Final. There will be no money prizes for the overall standings before the final.

4. Who qualifies for the Fujairah Final

4.1 The top 12 participants from the overall standings in the Grand Prix qualifications.

4.2 The next 6 best participants from the 6 different countries not represented among the top 12.

4.3 Two solvers nominated by the FIDE.

4.4 The organizers of the Fujairah Final have the right to invite other participants and to decide how many invitations there will be.

5. Prizes

5.1 The total prize fund for solvers in Grand Prix 2025-26 amounts to 71,000 €.

5.2 Prize money shall be distributed as follows:

5.2.1 Prizes – Fujairah Final:

  • The prize fund for the Fujairah Grand Prix Final is 27,000 €.
  • The exact distribution of at least 20 prizes will be in the announcement of the Grand Prix Final.
  • All solvers qualified for Fujairah-Final are eligible to get free single-room accommodation by submitting the condition form.

5.2.2 Prizes – WCSC Leg:

  • In each leg 12,000 € will be for the solvers and 3,000 € will be for the organizing expenses.
  • Exact distribution of at least 25 prizes included in the announcement of the WCSC.

5.2.3 Prizes – ECSC Leg:

  • In each leg 10,000 € will be for the solvers and 2,000 € will be for the organizing expenses.
  • Exact distribution of at least 25 prizes included in the announcement of the ECSC.

5.2.4 Prizes for composers:

The composers around the world will be invited to send their original problems and endgames to be solved in the Fujairah Final. Preliminary selection will be made by the Director of the Fujairah Final. The Top Ten solvers in the final standings will vote for the best problem/endgame in each of the six rounds. The composers of the six selected entries will receive 500 € prizes each – 3000 € in total.
